   What right do you have to tell someone that they can’t combine their faith with pride in their heritage?? You DON’T have the right. If we can have IRISH Catholic churches, then we can have Christian churches that celebrate AFRICAN heritage, it’s no different.

   Vidlivs:You do realize that he was raised by WHITE grandparents and that his mother was White, right?? (that’s ONE perspective) Understanding the frustration that many Black Americans have in this country is just ONE part of understanding how we as a country can get to a place of true reconciliation between Blacks and Whites. Maybe this subject is a little too advanced for someone with your level of intelligence, but it’s not difficult for me.

   Trinity is NOT a phony church, it’s a church that emphasizes Black Americans having pride in their African heritage, rather than being ashamed of it. Would you call an Irish Catholic church in America racist or discriminatory? No, because Irish people are still white, right? So that’s ok.

   Trinity is a phony church. The role of Christianity should be for all Christians to have pride in thier Christianiaty and faith to God and their saviour Jesus. There is no such thing as an Irish Catholic Church. Catholicism means universality. There is no distinction between types of Catholics. This is why the Catholic church is the TRUE and ORIGINAL church, and not a heretical sect, like all Protestant churches. America has a race problem because of Protestantism which based privilege on race.

   You obviously aren’t aware that Trinity has WHITE members and WHITE pastors who speak at the church and are welcomed there. You obviously don’t understand that the denomination of Trinity, the predominantly WHITE United Church of Christ, has spoken positively about the church and their work in the community since the “controversy” about Trinity started thanks to the rightwing media.
