I am living in schaumburg, and was wondering if it is worth it to commute to chicago (especially in the winter) for a job. I live in schaumburg, and there are lots of jobs here…but downtown jobs tend to pay a bit more. i hate driving, so it would have to be via train for sure…is it really horrible?

I am on a student visa and it expires in 2010 august, Before it expires I have to transfer to a 4 Year to renew my visa and be here in this country to persue my education.But the thing is that my Gpa is just 2.35. I was working 2 jobs to live my expenses but I quit one reasontly. I need suggestions to which colleges I can apply in Illinois, and what are the chances to Get in . HELP ME!!!!!!

The reason I ask here instead of looking it up myself is because it won’t let me find out without actually buying the ticket…this a one-way we speak of. cheap without being totally sucky! Someone please, find this out for me and I will love you forever. Cheapest airline. Not hotel-car-airline package. I’ve got all that covered. I won’t be flying for a few years, I want to know so I can tell how much I should save up and what sort of job I should get to raise enough money for it.

Is it possible to take a train from the airport to Union Station and then take a train to naperville?

Are there busses that go directly from the airport to Naperville?

I moved in the middle of year 2009. I am trying to prepare my 2009 tax return. I just finished my Fed 1040, and am about to start the Illiniois and California state taxes. Is there any additional form I need to fill up since the half of my income is from Illinois and the other half from California? Or do I just split my Fed income amount accordingly and use the amount for each state income tax form?

Current company relocated me from Texas to Illinois. If I get laid off and move back to Texas, can I collect unemployment in Texas?

im relocated for a job 2 hours away, have small items and then a big dresser, sleigh bed, mattress and nightstand, TV, one couch and a desk. I would rather hire movers than try to do it myself….how much should I expect to spend for a 2 hour move?

I’m 26 years old and want to move to Chicago. The problem is that I still live in Cincy and can’t move until I have a job in Chicago. The problem lies in the fact that it isn’t easy to get a job in a different city when you aren’t living there. Has anyone ever done this before and have some tips they can give me? I assume all the interviews would have to happen over the phone. I just don’t know if companies are going to be willing to look at my resume/hire me because of this.
My company that I currently work for is small so there is no chance of being transfered.

I painted office rooms for a friend that opened up a landscaping office in which I worked 81 hours. I never filled out an application because it was not a permanent job, just an oral agreement and he refuses to pay for my work done. I am in Illinois. He has done this to several people too.
