I am turning 14 next month and i neeeeeeeeeeeeed a job. I am so sick of asking my parents for money. Also a few years ago i got braids in my hair the the lady put them in so tight that my hair broke off. And now there is 1 big mess in the back of my head.And i really want a weave. My mom very much resents me getting a weave and proclaims that she will not pay for it. and im going 2 . IF I CAN GET A JOB!!!!!!! I will work my butt off if i have 2. But please please please can sum 1 suggest a place where i can get a job 4 a 14 year old!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

My name is Devin Adams-Barton, I work at a Public Aide accepting clinic in Taylorville Illinois. One of very few practices that accepts medic aide for both adults and children around in Illinois. And we do a good job also. We are friendly, compassionate, and very patient with every person who walks in our doors. Dr. Paul Pladziewicz, who is the dentist here has over 28 years in the dental field and has attended/graduated from Northwestern Dental School, University of Massachusetts, and some others. Almost every patient who has come through the doors to date has said something good about him. May it be that he is the best they have ever been to, or that they felt little to no pain at all. And the complements about the office staff are always good also. People have told me that other offices and staff they have been to, or interacted with in the past have been…. not so good.

What I am trying to get at here is how would I (or Dr. Paul) go about getting money from the government for this community service we are offering. Dr. Paul has put almost everything financially that he has into this. Finding a place to use as an office, buying all the instruments, x-ray machines, dental chairs, equipment, and everything else that went into starting up this office.

I’m just looking for help for him and us at the office.

NOT LOOKING FOR DONATIONS OF ANY KIND FROM ANY PRIVATE PERSON.

And if anyone asks, “why don’t more Dentists accept the public aide card in Illinois?”

It’s simple. Public Aide does not pay the full amount for services that a private insurance, or private patient with cash would pay. The Illinois Public Aide office, or whoever takes care of what money goes where in what instance, does not pay enough to Dentists that could just take patients willing to pay cash or have some private insurance pay for it.

It is a large amount that is not paid to Dentists. Thats the reason most Dentists of Illinois do not accept it.

And it is not like pennies less. It is a significant amount less. Sometimes 100’s of dollars less.

Once again, thats why most dentists do not accept it.

And the demand for a dentist that does accept it is overwhelming.

Sometimes we get 40 to 60 patients a day here at the office.

I dont know. It is all very confusing sometimes if you do not understand or are not well informed.

I can’t believe how hard it is to find a job here in the Chicago area. I know it’s hard just about everywhere, but this is rediculous. What’s even more rediculous is the way potential employers are treating applicants, making us jump through hoops. Employer edicate is non existent. I am working now, but they do not have enough hours to work me full time. What’s funny is because I have a job and am looking for one, employers seem to be looking at me like it’s my falt they don’t have hours to give. They ask questions like “what, can’t they give you more hours or find another location for you?” I have applied at some joke jobs like Walmart and have not gotten call backs from them either. It’s so annoying. How is it NOT discrimination to not call someone back because they are “over qualified?”

What are some jobs and salaries in Cairo, Illinois from 1880-1920 compared to now.

I am still i junior in high school (and indiana resident), but i’m thinking about university of illinois and purdue. So does a double major(mathematics and computer science) with a job at the university of illinois-urbana look better, or does it look better to have a triple major(computer science, mathematics, chemistry) with no job (but investing in stocks for myself) at purdue. I am aiming to look good for graduate school, namely m.i.t. or stanford. I also know that illinois is better than purdue in those majors. The reason I’m saying a double major at illinois because it doesn’t seem it would be possible to have a triple major and a job at the same time, but correct me if i’m wrong. The reason I would need a job is to help establish residency and university of illinois requires you to have a job for residency and to have in-state tuition.

ok, heres the situation

I recently went on a visit to U of I at urbana champaign, and its my ultimate dream school.

1. I am obsessed with space and flying..and I mean OBSESSED.
2. This school offers a top notch aerospace program as well as amazing flight lessons in much more modern aircraft than my local air port.
3. they offer Air Force ROTC.

I am a junior in Highschool, and ive decided to really start picking up the pace in school. Unfortunately, the past few years I have only gotten B’s, A’s, and a FEW C’s. I need to bring this up.

Anyways, right now I have a job, and by the time college comes i will have had it for about 3.5 years.

I need some community work I can do, such as volunteer work. I want it to be in the field of study (aerospace) like they say on the website. They say its a plus if your volunteer work has to do with the field of study you would like.

Somehow my practice ACT test ended up telling me that my predicted act was a 21 >___<. Thats BS. I can do wayyy better than that. I must not have tried very hard when taking it.

Anyways, ive decided to stay inside for my lunch period to go to the library everday and study.

I NEED ANY OTHER TIPS OR ADVICE TO GET MY ACT AND SAT SCORE UP AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE. The ACT is coming up fast, and if I dont bust my ass now my chance at a top notch education may be out of question.

OH ALSO…

On the website it says to write about (in your college essay) any challenges you have overcome. I have overcome MANY challenges. When I was born, I was born with a defect called a syndactly. What it is is my left hand’s fingers are all shorter than my right by about 3/4 inch, and they are all the same length, and they are all missing one knuckle (not the thumb.). The doctors reported bad news to my parents (who are now divorced). They said I would need to use a special keyboard for all my life, and would not be able to do as many things as people with a normal hand could. Despite all the teasing i recieve, I have overcome this and proved the doctors wrong. I never needed a special keyboard, and am the top typer in my info processing class (that is in terms of grade, speed, and accuracy). I type at about 90wpm accurately. My job is at jewel as a stocker, all I do is lift and balance boxes with my hands. I also bagged and pushed carts. My dream is to become a pilot, and I wanted to take flight lessons. Many told me id never be able to become a pilot due to my hand, but I have taken 1 flight lesson and had NO trouble whatsoever and I love it. I am litteraly able to do anything a normal handed person can do, and im proud of it.

Also, my dad was a drunk and my parents went through a HUGE divorce. My mom lost our house, as well as 80K on the attorney. Luckily my grandmother was kind enough to help with the expenses. This dragged out for like 8 years and was a constant battle. Through all this, I was able to function normally through school and everyday activities. I also want to join the Air Force to hopefully fly for them.

These all show that I am willing to take on any challenge I recieve and give it my all. Also, we are going to be probably getting quite a bit of financial aid. I hear this actually increases my chances of getting in, since the school doesnt want to be accused of only letting rich people in, instead of giving single mothered-children who are ‘technically’ handi-capped (although I dont consider this a handicap at all, lol, it doesnt affect anything), and wants to serve our country a chance at a better education.

PLEASE ANY TIPS. I plan on buying all the ACT study books as well as taking the ACT prep class.

Sorry for the crappy grammar, I am extremely tired today because of the previous days journeys.
also, i won the DARE essay in like 4th or 5th grade, about 30 kids were entered. Its about not using drugs and what not.

I was on the B honor roll soph year, thats the highest ive gotten in HS, I plan to change that. Im going for A honor roll.

Also, I DESPERATELY NEED HELP WITH MY SPANISH. im in spanish 2, and plan on taking three. Im already having trouble with 2. Any good websites?

I am currently a senior in High School and have a cumulative 3.55GPA. I received a 20 on my ACT (I plan to retake it). Some activities I have been involved at in school is a program called teens reaching youth and Art club. I have done service hours by helping out In a Physicians office. I have a job in which i work 15 hrs a week. (I take care of a handicapped individual). I am Mexican American. I plan to be a General Surgeon when I get older. I have gone to a community college for 2 semesters now (during the summer and in the afternoon when the school day ends). and am currently a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Illinois (I live in Illinois). I am currently taking a Phlebotomy technician program and will be certified when I turn 18. (I have 8 weeks experience working in a Hospital).
I don’t want to be a nurse but a General Surgeon when I get older
