Dear Mandrell Family,I just heard of Irby’s passing today and was very saddened at the news. When I hear you all talk about him I can feel the love that you feel in your heart for him. I was able to meet Irby several years ago at Barbara’s concert in St. Louis, Mo and I’ve never forgotten how nice of a man he was. Just know that he is there in heaven, enjoying the AWESOMENESS and will be waiting for you there someday.I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, please take care!!

Thank you for sharing.I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Mr. Mandrell many years ago at a golf tournament for the Alabama Sheriffs Boys and Girls Ranches. He was a precious man. My prayers are with the family.

I’m so sad. I thought this tough guy would be around forever. I had the pleasure of speaking with him in 1990 when I wanted to license one of Barbara’s songs (Til its Love Again) for my college soap and he said I could use it for free, as long as it wasn’t over 30 seconds, and I obliged. I shared that story with Barbara years later when I produced her on Leeza. God Bless the Mandrell family. You’re in our prayers.

Irby definately was a inspirational man who lived an exceptional life. His driving influence in his daughters lives transformed them into the most well known entertainment families in the world. How glorious it must have been for him to have enjoyed life and been able to see their careers flurish the way they did. I have been a long time lover especially of Barbara and my heart goes out to them all during this time of grief.

Thanks for sharing! I was so saddened to hear about Irby Mandrell passing on. He really felt like an extended father to many Mandrell fans because they always spoke of how wonderful he was. He was never to far waiting in the wings for one of his children. Mr. Mandrell will live in forever through his family. Condolensces to all of the Mandrells. God Bless!
