Would Anyone In The Medical Transcription Field Answer A Few Questions?

I am enrolled in a medical transcriptionist program at moraine valley college in palos, illinois. I need to interview someone for a project due next week. I have had no luck calling people over the phone. They are very short questions! They are 1) interviewee’s name and place of employment & department 2) position title 3) lenght of time employed 4) typical workday 5) advantage and disadvantages of your job and 6) any recommendations or advice you have for someone starting out. That’s all! If anyone could help me, here is my email agentdragonfly27@yahoo.com

My name is Loralee and I work at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. My title is Medical Transcriptionist and I work in the Health Records Department. I have worked here for approximately 18 years. I am a telecommuter (work from home) and my hours are pretty flexible. So long as I work my 7.75 hour shift within a 24 hour period. Daily I start at 6:00 a.m. so this makes for a short work day. Advantages – I have a good pension, like the flexibility, the pay is pretty good. One of the disadvantages of being a telecommuter is that you are somewhat isolated from your co-workers. I would say that this is a pretty good field to get into as there are many different places in which you could work, ie. hospital, doctor’s office, lab, etc.
